The Central High School Band Parent Organization (BPO) is a vital component to the band program. No matter what your talents or how pressed for time you are, there is probably something you can do to help. There are many ways to get involved, ranging from simply attending concerts and events to raising funds, chaperoning, and helping to lead this organization.

 

 

The purpose of this organization is to:

• Support, aid, and promote the Band and its components at Omaha Central High School.
• Provide, acquire, own, buy, sell, trade, rent, lease or otherwise deal with uniforms, written music, transportation and other related service for the Band program.
• Solicit and accept gifts of money or property; conduct bake sales and the sales of school approved merchandise: perform various and assorted services for hire: and conduct any other legal fund raising activities: all profits from activities which shall be paid into the Band Parents general treasury for the above stated purpose.

It is important to keep in mind that the role of band parents is to support the music program by working in conjunction with the band directors. The experience and vision of the directors must be relied upon when making decisions concerning the direction and philosophy of the band to ensure success of the program as a whole.
